The Pathfinder arrives this year with no major changes. Featuring a MonoFrame construction, unlike typical body-on-frame construction, the body, floor pan and frame form a single structure. This allows the use of safety features, such as crumple zones, as well as providing improved handling. For increased value, standard amenities include air conditioning, four-wheel anti-lock brakes and a stereo with both CD and cassette players. Optional equipment and packages vary to suit a variety of tastes. Standard on 4WD models is a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system that can be activated at any speed from a complete stop up to 50 mph. An available limited-slip differential combines with standard mud-and-snow tires to provide even greater traction.
